What Happens in a Neurofeedback session?
A typical neurofeedback session lasts about 60 minutes and is generally experienced as relaxing and effortless. You’ll sit comfortably while small sensors are placed on your scalp and ears to measure your brain’s electrical activity. No current, stimulation, or energy is applied to your brain — the sensors only read information.
As you watch a movie or visual content, subtle changes in sound or brightness provide real-time feedback about how your brain is functioning. This feedback allows your brain to recognize which patterns are more efficient.
Your brain automatically responds to this information, gradually adjusting its activity — much like a musician fine-tuning an instrument to stay in harmony. Over time, your brain learns how to maintain these more balanced patterns on its own.
Each session builds on the previous one. Training protocols are adjusted based on your comfort, progress, and observations from earlier visits. As training continues, many clients report feeling calmer, more focused, or more grounded in their daily lives.
