This page describes supportive neuromodulation tools used alongside neurofeedback training, not alternatives to it.
Neuromodulation Support
Clinician-guided neuromodulation used to support regulation and neurofeedback outcomes
Neuromodulation support refers to the use of gentle, non-invasive brain-based tools to help regulate the nervous system and support neurofeedback training. These modalities are used in-session with clients and, in some cases, may be continued at home as part of a guided care plan. They are not standalone treatments, but supportive tools selected based on individual needs and response.
tPBM- transcranial Photobiomodulation
Transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) may be incorporated during sessions to support brain metabolism, regulation, and training readiness. When used, it is integrated thoughtfully with neurofeedback protocols based on individual needs and response.
For some clients, continuing tPBM at home between sessions can be helpful. When appropriate, we may recommend an at-home device that aligns with the technology used in our clinic. This option is always optional and introduced after in-session use, with guidance on timing and expectations.
We are able to offer clients a discounted rate on the recommended home device.
HeartMath® Coherence Training
HeartMath coherence training may be used to support autonomic regulation and emotional self-awareness. In clinical sessions, it can help clients recognize physiological stress responses and practice skills that promote greater nervous system balance.
When used, it complements neurofeedback by reinforcing regulation skills that translate into daily life.
Optional At-Home HeartMath Practice
Some clients choose to continue HeartMath practice at home to reinforce skills learned during sessions. When appropriate, we may recommend HeartMath tools for home use as part of a broader care plan focused on regulation, resilience, and self-monitoring.
We are able to offer clients access to HeartMath products through our referral link.
Vagus Nerve Stimulation (coming soon)
Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is a neuromodulation approach designed to support autonomic nervous system balance and stress regulation. When introduced, it will be used as a supportive, clinician-guided modality alongside neurofeedback training—not as a standalone intervention.
VNS may be considered when calming the nervous system, improving stress resilience, or supporting regulation between training sessions is clinically appropriate. As with all neuromodulation tools we use, timing, frequency, and suitability are determined on an individual basis.
Certain VNS tools are designed for home use and may be considered for select clients as part of a guided care plan. When appropriate, recommendations are made only after in-session context and instruction, and are always optional.
ACCESSING AT-HOME TOOLS
We maintain affiliate relationships with select companies whose products align with our clinical philosophy and standards of care. When appropriate, clients may choose to purchase recommended at-home tools for personal or family use through these partnerships, often at a preferred rate.
Our recommendations are guided by individual goals and clinical appropriateness, and the use of any at-home technology is always optional and intended to complement—not replace—in-clinic care.
